Born in Bucharest, Romanian pianist Constantin Sandu studied with Sonia Ratescu, Constantin Nitu and, later, with renowned pianist and professor Constantin Ionescu-Vovu at the Music High School "C. Porumbescu". In March 2006 he obtained his doctorate at Bucharest Music University with a thesis on "Portuguese Music for Piano". Attended masterclasses with Sequeira Costa, Dimitri Bashkirov, Helena Sá e Costa and Tânia Achot. Since his first appearance with an orchestra at the age of 14 he has developed an intensive concert career that extends over three decades. In this period, he has appeared in hundreds of concerts throughout Europe and Asia always acclaimed by the public and the critic. He has played in renowned Festivals in Romania, France and Spain and has won several prizes. He is regularly invited to play with important Romanian orchestras such as the Filarmonica George Enescu in Bucharest or the Romanian Radio Symphony, and other European orchestras. He was part of the jury in many piano competitions in Portugal and Romania. During the events that marked Porto 2001 European Capital of Culture, he played Rachmaninov's Concerto Nº 2 with Porto National Orquestra, as part of the integral interpretation of this composer's concertos together with Vladimir Viardo, Sequeira Costa and Artur Pizarro. He has recorded various CDs, three of them as a soloist (Beethoven, Albéniz and Gershwin and Portuguese and Romanian Music for piano). Constantin lives in Portugal since 1991 and teaches at Escola Superior de Música e das Artes do Espectaculo in Porto.
Horia Vacarescu Horia Vacarescu brings something new to the music scene. Combining a great virtuosity with a young and fresh approach, his interpretations are received by the public with delight and enthusiasm. Horia is developing an international career as a soloist and chamber musician. Born in Bucharest (Romania) in a family of musicians, he started playing the violin aged 3. He studied with Paul Ratz in Bucharest and with Eugen Sarbu in London. Actually lives in London where he recently graduated from the Royal College of Music with Professor Levon Chilingirian. He first played in public aged 6 and performed with orquestras with 15. Nowadays he performs throughout Europe. In 1994 he was part of a small group of young Romanian artists chosen to tour the United States, including a concert at the White House. Although living in London Horia is still in contact with the Romanian musical scene, playing frequently with Philharmonic Orquestras of his home country. This year includes performances in Romania, the UK, Portugal, Japan and Hong Kong. He is regularly invited to participate in Music Festivals in the UK, France, Switzerland and Romania. He plays and records for the Romanian national Radio and Television. In 2003 he relaunched the series of concerts "Nights in Palace Elisabeta" that had been interupted during the communist period. During his studies Horia Vacarescu had the support of the Joan Weller Prize, of the Ratiu Family Foundation and of Stoica and Associates.

These concerts show the two faces of the Romanian musician's genius:
on one side the composer, through one of his most famous Sonatas for violin and piano, and, on the oher side, the interpreter through a selection of master works from the music literature that were part of the maestro's repertoire.
