Pål Lindtner Eide was born in 1970 in Bergen, Norway. Eide has established a reputation as one of Scandinavias´s most interesting pianists of his generation. His debut in Copenhagen and his debut in Norway with two recitals at the Bergen International Festival, received top reviews, praising his uninhibited virtuosity and powerful expression. He started playing the piano at the age of 8. At 10 he was a finalist in his first piano competition, and has since been awarded several prizes (e.g. Young Masters of the Piano, Kils International Piano Competition, The Harby Prize). After studies with Tom Ernst at The Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen, he was awarded a Russian State Scolarship to study at the Tchaikowsky Conservatory in Moscow with Tatiana Nicolayeva, and later with professor Naum Starkmann. He returned to Denmark to enter the Soloist Class at the Royal Danish Academy of Music with professor José Ribera. Finally, he has been studying with professor Jiri Hlinka in Oslo and Bergen. His repertoire extends from classical composers like Bach to modern composers. He has performed with orchestras, appeared in radio and television, participated in music festivals, and he has been giving recitals in Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Austria, Switzerland, France, Russia and Israel. He now lives in Humlebaek, Denmark, with his wife and three daughters.
