Gervásio has a new exhibit in São Lourenço.
Ample gestures, audacious strokes, impulsive graphics, that is how the new canvasses by Portuguese painter Gervásio, which will be shown from March 29th until May 8th at the Centro Cultural São Lourenço in Almancil, appear. On an undercoat of colours spread with a spatula, a brush or spray appear strong and energetic graphic elements. Recently the artist uses as well uncommon elements like photos or cloth which he disposes on his paintings. From chaos rises an ordinate and well-balanced work. Born in 1972 in Monchique, Gervásio has exhibited his works for 10 years regularly in galleries and public spaces. He pursues his research beyond any academism; the way he has chosen reveals to be the right one. |
