This exhibition joins various artists of different origin and expression but having in common a special affinity for works on paper. In the case of David de Almeida one can speak of works made out of paper. The artist presents a number of new works based on the subtle juxtaposition of sheets of paper and colours. Manuel Baptista will show some older works, some of them going back to the cycle of the “Fans”. Helge Leiberg, will show some of the works of the series “The Riders of the Apocalypse”. Shintaro Nakaoka will participate with drawings on rice paper, presented on the traditional Japanese rolls. Susan Norrie will present new watercolours. Maria José Oliveira’s work shows the marks left on paper by human steps. This exhibition allows to present also works of three “new” artists: Margarida Palma, student of Bartolomeu dos Santos, now living in London where she studied and now manages her own printing studio. Kathrin Schädlich, German artist living in Portimão, exhibit a series of collages composed by dreams put together in surrealistic spaces. Paulo Serra, actually living in Faro, will show pencil drawings of big dimensions, namely a series called “Nora” (The old well) and other works in mixed media on paper. A fascinating confrontation between well known artists and young new talents.
