JAROSLAW FLICINSKI
"Tomorrow Is Now"

12.03.2011 > 02.04.2011

In March 2011 the São Lourenço Cultural Centre celebrates its 30th Anniversary. To mark the event, the centre presents the special exhibition "TOMORROW IS NOW" by Jaroslaw Flicinski, opening on 12 March.

JAROSLAW FLICINSKI, Polish artist of international projection, was chosen for this commitment due the quality and originality of his work. He paints circles, lines, surfaces of contrasting colors, but always harmonious, with acrylic or thin layers of diluted oil on a variety of media like canvas, wood or metal sheet. But the support Jaroslaw likes best are walls. Freed from the restrictive limits of the traditional framework, his giant works invade the space according to a strict rhythm of colors and lines. For two months, March and April the halls of the Cultural Center will be transformed into a work of art. The look and hence the environment of the gallery will be completely renovated. It will be an innovative experience of high aesthetic value. Angelika Depken writes about Jaroslaw Flicinski: his work is "abstract as music, as partiture on a spectator or in space, is transformed into sound."
