RUI MATOS is a sculptor. The CCSL has already presented his sculptures in white marble, limestone and black slate. Recently the artist has discovered for himself a new material: iron. And it is a series of new iron pieces that we are going to show in this exhibition. With this material the artist can work on a much bigger scale, create more simple and elegant lines. There will be “classical sculptures” standing up from the ground and thin wall sculptures like light calligraphic signs. Painted in red, black, blue or green, these sculptures, although very sober, show of great lightness and happiness.

NUNO SANTIAGO is a painter. Through the originality and the persistency of his work he has established his name in the Portuguese artistic panorama. His technique deeply influenced by his long stay in Asia, makes the singularity of his approach. His paintings where simple but very clear forms stand up from a dark background have a meditative dimension. Today, Nuno changes his palette and shows us works with a dark blue background, a blue as dark as the sky at night.
