“In the Artists’ Kitchen”, 40 artists, half of them Portuguese, the others from different nationalities, but each of them gifted with a distinctive artistic personnality and a singular language, accepted the invitation of CCSL and revealed their favourite cooking recipes. To illustrate this recipe, they have accepted to make a piece of art that does not necessarily fit into their normal working context, a piece related to culinary art, to be reproduced and published in a book and to be exhibited in CCSL. The result is a collection of recipes and art works that cuts through its heterogenity and in it’s variety lies its interest and its originality. Besides revealing a recipe and a piece of art, the book allows also an indiscrete glance into the artists’ kitchen, showing them working with a pan and a spoon instead of a brush and a pencil. The book, replete with colours and pictures, is published in three languages: Portuguese, English and German. It is prefaced by Gigi, well known personnality in the Algarvian gastronomic sphere and, most of all, friend of the artists and of the CCSL. |
