From April 8 th till May 25 th Georg Scheele, German artist living in Monchique, Algarve, will present his new work at Centro Cultural São Lourenço. It will be his 4 th individual show there. He will present new marble pieces in the line of the sculptoric language he has developed over the years: audacious airy forms standing in a fragile balance. In the same line he will show some new sculptures in bronze of great esthetical value. He remains the equilibrist of the sculpture.
But this exhibition will show also a complete new aspect of Georg’s work: coloured stone panels. For the first time the artist uses glasstone, a material that has a texture similar to stone, that can be cut out like stone, but exists in bright colours: blue, red, yellow. The artist who chooses his subjects among abstract forms or the human being presents his work in individual panels or in big assemblages. Using different layers of glasstone, he plays with colours and shadows and makes out of these panels real wall sculptures.
